Pricing policy and how to order

Background Information

I will be working as a Luthier for the next 25 years at least.  It’s my passion.  The quality and sound of my guitars are always improving as this is something I am working on constantly.  I price my guitars at a point in the market which is generally above the mass produced factory guitars and below those of the top makers.  My guitars at the moment are great value for money when you consider the build quality and the quality of sound they produce and the level of research I have undertaken.  My lattice and traditional guitars have at least 10 years of research put into them.  My double tops are relatively new but I am having some great results. 

How to order

Guitar orders start from a conversation about the guitar and the type of guitar sound you like.  Some people order my guitars and just say build it as standard whereas others will go into real detail with nut width, string spacing, scale length and the timber used, everyone is different.  I have a range of questions I ask you and that’s just really about me trying to get a feel for the kind of guitar you are really after.  Questions such as the type of guitar you play at the moment, current set up, strings,  favourite players and the type of sound you are after.   During the conversation I can also let you know how long the current waiting time is for one of my guitars and a delivery date. 

Price

Lattice braced guitars start at $5,000
Traditional Guitars start at $4000
Double Tops start at $5000

Why the price difference?  Lattice guitars and the double tops are the most time consuming and fiddly guitars to make and generally take at least an extra two weeks over a traditional guitar to build.  The lattice and double top guitars require additional material as well. 

Price includes hardcase & luthier’s lifetime warranty on the instrument’s manufacture.

Prices are in Australian Dollars.

Shiping fees are covered by the buyer and within Australia this is generally under $75 and if you are in Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne I have been known to deliver to the door myself.  Overseas buyers your shipping can vary enourmously depending on your location but expect between $300-500 once insurance is added etc.
